Maker Ed Elective Class
For the first time at San Fernando MS, a maker ed class has been offered to students in the 7th and 8th grade as an elective course. Students in the class learn how to use a variety of tools from electronics, to woodworking, to technology with the goal to serve the SFMS community and solve problems of tomorrow.

Students learn to use hand tools such as saws, electric sanders, hammers, screwdrivers, and film and media equipment. They also learn to code using spheros, electronic programmable robots, and IPADS. Using these variety of tools provide students in this class the opportunity to experience technology current in the field and gain interest in careers in STEAM.

About us!
Nicki Golden
Math &Â Maker Ed Elective teacher
I have been working at SFMS for over ten years and cannot imagine being anywhere else. Although I have been teaching math my entire career, I enjoy the new experiences in our MakersEd elective. My goal is to create a positive working environment where students of all abilities can learn from each other.
